Case of the week:

There was a farm adjacent to a manufacturing plant. One evening, one of the farm's cows got loose from its pen and wandered over to a shack next door and began to eat some of the things that were there--the items that the plant made. Her little nighttime snack over, the cow went back to the farm, digested the gunpowder she'd eaten, and promptly exploded.

The end.

Um.. even if the owner of the cow sued for damages, the owner of the plant could claim contributory negligence - that the cows owner didn't properly fence in the cow?

I want to know the answer!

Oddly enough, this was a Strict Liability case.

And our professor is of the Olde School--he likes to hide the answers from us. But I don't imagine there would be SL there. Then again, I'm horrible at Torts. XD

As in, strict liability for the plant because the explosives were so inherently dangerous?

I guess now that I re-read, it doesn't say the plant took adequate measures to keep children or animals out?
