I think I love Psycho so much because it never fails to scare me. Nowadays movies are all bloody gorey gross and gross--Psycho was rare; it had class. Sure, it was because there were Code Restrictions on it, but it shows that a director can make a slasher film (which is really a psychological thriller) that's effective without resorting to jump-out-and-scare-you cheap shots.
